Few birds say summer in Britain quite like the swallow: Their arrival marks the return of warmer days in the UK, and when summer ends, they leave again - only to make that incredible journey home the following spring.

I created this piece of two swallows in flight, beak to beak, to be a symbol of love, summer, freedom, travel, companionship and coming home - perfect for those who long for the summer or the feeling of freedom that comes with flying. These incredible birds spend their life on the wing, yet always manage to find their way home.

This piece was inspired by watching the swallows on Dartmoor and is part of my 'Country Living' collection - pieces inspired by the wildlife found in the Westcountry. This is a meaningful statement piece for a couple or anyone who loves travel and who long for the warm summer days, and who want to bring a little reminder of that feeling into their home.
